It was confirmed by the chief executive of the Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer that Top Rank sent a formal written letter to WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez offering him $5 million dollar guarantee to fight Manny Pacquiao in his world welterweight title on November 12 in Las Vegas, Marquez accepted the offer and said that” it’s the fight I’ve been waiting for and I want to fight him”

According to Marquez, the catch weight is going to be 144 pounds and not 145 as what they previously outlined as disclosed by Micheal Koncz, the adviser of Pacquiao. Though Marquez had already accepted the fight, it was not yet official on what weight will they agreed to fight. As we know catch weight is a part of the negotiations for a third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. The Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 fight will favor Marquez if he wins the fight because he is going to jump from Lightweight to Welterweight and it’s a smooth way to make up his loss on his last fight with Mayweather.

In their previous fight, Pacquiao vs Marquez III fought two great times: first on a controversial draw in their 2004 featherweight championship fight and a split decision 2008 junior lightweight title fight in favor of Pacquiao.
